we aren't all fortune enough to easily afford anything we want. So of course there will be a "kneejerk reaction" when hearing that not only do they have to pay a large sum of money just to play the game, but they have to pay more to experience the whole game.
If the game was $69.95-79.95 AUD like games were/still sometimes are, then yeah I'd be absolutely A-ok with there being a class behind a DLC paywall. Sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't, it depends. A kneejerk reaction of "DLC bad" is irrational. I don't think there are any grounds for being upset when none of us have played the game and can't say how big of a deal this really is. It really depends on how many classes are in the base game, and what the exact features of the DLC class are. To be fair, many companies over the years conditioned us to expect the worst. Leave it to most users to interpret information that's presented with slight ambiguity in the worst possible way before proceeding to sharpen their pitchforks - the internet's #1 recreational activity.
